BECAUSE OF THE PHONE

You have a crush on Donghyun in almost 2 years.

You are both friends when you’re still in kindergarten but it slowly faded when you become grade-schools until you become high schoolers.

Even you’re still in the same school your not often talking to each other as he has a different section/level.

Your friends know that you like him in almost years,
they sometimes teasing you about him, but you just ignore them.

Good thing, one of your friends is a classmate of Donghyun.

She always inviting you on her classroom so you can chat with her as well you can also see DongHyun.

Everyday you always see him at school actually. You secretly wait him in the main gate and after that you’ll go back to your homeroom. You always make your aegyos every time he is around, hoping he will see you cute smiley-face.

You always fix your hair and your clothes before you will leave the class and going to pass by on his homeroom.

You even collect some of his stolen pictures that are taken from you. You always think of him every night wishing your pillow that it will be him someday and you even made a scrapbook that is all about him.

“ehemm..” your best friend JinAh cleared her throat.

You finally snapped out of your thoughts. “Day dreaming again..”, she sighed. “oh~ mianheyo”, you smile.

“why won’t you try to confess to him, so your dream will become reality now”, she advice. “I’m scared..”, you frowned.

“Aishh.. JinAh, DongHyun must do the first move and not JaeShin..”, Your friend, SulMee scolding at Jin-Ah.

“stop now guys..” you stop them. “tsk. How can DongHyun make the first move? As far as I know... both of them are not close friends… they even can’t talk to each other”, Jin-Ah pfft-ed. “plus! Donghyun don’t know JaeShin”, Jin-Ah added.

“HEY ! He already knew me ! We are friends when we are still kindergarten”, you protested. “and you think he can remember you until now?”,she asked. You think for a while.. “of course..”, you said bravery.

“duh! many years passed JaeShin, we are now on middle school.. and the last time you’ve been friends with him is when both of you are kindergartens ..how can you ever think he can still remember you?”, Jin-Ah said.

Yeah .. you thought she  was right, he maybe forget about your friendship, because of the years passed.

One Night, SulMee invite you on a party…she invited you through phone…

“No ~ I won’t come MiMi-ah, I still have chores to do here in our house..”, you refuse her invitation.
“JaeShin ~ DongHyun will be there … you still don’t want to come?”, she said.

Your face turned brightens as you heard DongHyun will come to the party.

“hello? JaeShin, are you still there?”, she asked checking if your still on the other line.

“ahh- yeah, yeah ! I’m still here…”you answered. “so.. are you going to the party? It will be fun”, she sound excited.

“o-okay~”, you blushed as you think of DongHyun. “YEAH ! okay, so be there at 7pm.. wear anything you want… dress or blah~blah~ blah~”,she said and you both hung-up the phone after your talk.

You went downstairs taking a peek if your mom was there.

You saw her on the kitchen making pop corns. You walks towards her.. “mom~”, you started.

She just look at you and smile. “uhmm.. can I go to SulMee’s party ?”,you said. It’s actually not SulMee’s party, but SulMee’s friend’s party.

Just to allow you on the party, you say it’s SulMee’s party.

“when?”,your mom asked as her eyes turn back to her popcorn. “uhmm.. later, 7 pm”, you said.

She suddenly take a look on the wall clock.” honey, it’s already 5:30 pm.. why you’re not still preparing ? you’ll be late”, she smile.

As you understood that she allows you to go on the party you squealed and kiss her cheeks. “thanks mom”, you bow and went upstairs.

You widely open your closet and look for some pretty dress that you have.

You pick one and take a look on the mirror. You finally chose your favorite dress which is a purple dress, you quickly take a bath and wear it. You went in front of the mirror and softly brush your hair.

You just let down your wavy colored-brown hair that is level on your shoulders.

You smile on yourself. As you went downstairs your mom shocked at your beauty. “wow ~ I never thought my baby girl would turn to a real beautiful lady”,she smile. You just smile and thanked her.

“I’ll be going now mom”, you bowed. ”okay, just be sure you will not get into an accident..”, she said and you nodded. “…and …no drinking alcoholic drinks, arrasso?”, you smile and nod.

You ride on a taxi and tell the driver where you are going. “at the ******”, you said.

10 minutes of the ride and you are finally there. You paid the taxi driver and went inside the party.

There, you saw some of your classmates and schoolmates. “hey ! JaeShin…”, a boy call you, you turn around and saw the guy.

Your gave him a smile as you saw it was your friend(schoolmate) HyunSeong. “hi”, you greeted shyly.

Just then, SulMee and JinAh appeared. “annyeong!”, they both greeted while they have drinks on their hands. “oh ..so why we we are here on this party..?”, you asked sheepishly. “ of course , to ENJOY! such a weird question”, SulMee laugh and the two join her.

“Yeah..I know ~ but what I mean is—“, you were cut off.”It’s HyunSeong’s Birthday !”, JinAh shouted across the loud sound of the speaker.” ahh.. mianheyo ~ I forgot. SAENGIL CHUKKAHAE”, you shouted as the loud sound of the speaker never stopped.

He just say thanks and patted your head. “enjoy”, he said and left.

“Where the hell are we going?”, you said as JinAh and SulMee pull you somewhere.

As the three of you stopped, you saw a long couch were some of your schoolmates are there. “annyeong~”, they greeted and the three of you bowed. “there … sit there ..”, you thanked one of the girls there who moved a little so you can sit.

She just smile at you and take a sip on her drink. You sit there quietly as you just listened on what they are talking. “ annyeonghaseyo~”, someone greeted you. It sounds familiar so you turn to your back as you saw the person greeted you.

It was DongHyun smiling widely at you. You blush as you saw his breath-taking smile. *OMYGAWSH ! IT’S MY CRUSH!*, you thought happily. You greeted him back.

Both of you were so quiet and just listen to your friends chatting that are in your group.

“Hey, why both of you are so quiet?”,one of your friend asked.

You just smile. “ ani… were chatting here~”, he lied. “ so, just the two of you ? DongHyun your so selfish … don’t steal my girl!”, Leeteuk shouted and just laugh.

Well, Leeteuk had a crush on you since you enter on his life.

You know that he have a crush on you as he confess in the first you talk to him, but you told him that you just treat him like a friend, best friend to be better.

DongHyun laugh awkwardly as noises and cheers start.

Your friends always teasing you to Leeteuk as they still don’t know that DongHyun is your real crush. Your bestfriends just laugh along with them.

“uhmm… do you still know me?”, you asked as you started your own conversation.

“yeah ~ Jaeshin..”, he smile. You suddenly felt butterflies on your stomach. “how about me?”, he asked.

“of course ! DongHyun..”, you smile.

“yeah.. of course, Leeteuk call me a while ago..”, he made a poker face.

You laugh at his cuteness. “no, I already know you .. since kindergarten”, you looked-away as your cheeks get red.

“uh.. I thought you already forgot me”,he said.

“aniyo ~ I will not, you’re my only friend there when we are still kindergartens”, you said.

“oh, yeah?”,he said and you smile. “can I have your number? I still want us to be in touch with each other”,he said and you both exchange your phone numbers.

“you know.. I really miss you”, you were so shocked as he suddenly blurted it out. “j-jin-ja?”, you stuttered and he just smile.

Few weeks later ….

You have been friends again with DongHyun.

He also invite you every time he would join on a dancing contest together with his group mates. You are always there to cheer him.

Finally, their dance ended and you and your friends waited them on the backstage.

“congratulations~”, you grin as you saw him. You also congratulate the rest. “We are not yet winning~” he said.

You just laugh, “I know , but I’m sure you’ll win”, you smile. “aww~ thanks!”, he smile and hug you.

Again, you felt butterflies on your stomach and your heart thump so fast as If you want to go away from them and squealed somewhere.

You just nod and scratch the back of your neck.

“yeah ~ you’re welcome”, you said shyly, hiding your red tomato face.

You are so happy as you receive a hug from him.

You actually want to say it to your best friends later …

The smile on your face never fades after he hugged you.

He actually ask you if you want to go home with him, but you rejected it.

Your afraid that he might notice that you have a crush on him, and maybe in the middle of your walk you’ll be faint because you can’t stand it that your heart will going to explode in any minute, while walking with him.

For short – you not yet ready to confess to him.

As you went back to your house your mom notice your different shining smile.

“ooh ~ what happen to the contest ? why it seems your so happy?”,your mom asked.

“Am I? uhmm.. it’s because my friends WIN THE CONTEST”, you said.

Well, it’s actually true Donghyun’s group WON ! You quickly go to your room and lock the door.

You pick up your phone inside your bag and dial JinAh’s number.

RING~RING~RING

And after seconds she accept the call.

“hello? JinAh …”,you started. “uhh-“you cut and proceed to tell the story.

“hey ! you know what .. I have a fun time today … I’ve waited this for so long … how I wish he would hug me always.

Actually, it’s started when I congratulate him and he said thanks and hug me …”, you paused and squealed.

“I waited his special hug for almost 2 years.. and now, I finally got it ! uwahh ! I just hope I already confess my feelings to him earlier … but I’m afraid ! I don’t know why but I suddenly felt scared every time I will plan to confess, maybe I’m not yet ready .. should I tell him tomorrow? would he accept my feelings? I love him so much but it seems he won’t never love me back .. what ? what would you advice to me ?”, you asked her. “uhmm… sorry ~I’m not JinAh”, the voice said. “huh?", that's the only word you say."sorry~ you're wrong number", the voice said softly." then who is this?”, you asked.

“it’s …. DongHyun”, you were so shocked as you realize you dialed a wrong number. You can’t say any words and just hung-up the phone.*OMYGAWSH ! WHAT HAVE I’VE DONE ? He heard all what I have said?*you thought.

Suddenly, you receive a call from him.

You hesitate to accept the call. “please .. pick up your phone.. I have to tell you something”, he text.

He call you again and you accept it. You just clear your throat and listen to him.

“hey ! Don’t think I’m mad at you or I will reject you after I heard your confession.Actually, I’m happy because first time in my life that a girl tell me that she love me so much.”, you just keep quiet.

“anyways, thank you because you like me…”, he paused. You waited him for a seconds and he didn’t talk.

”t-th-at’s all.. o-okay,bye”, you were about to hung up when he starts to talk again.”wait ! uhmm.. I-I actually l-like you.. also …”, you were so shocked.

*JINJA?! IS THIS A DREAM?* you thought.

“I like you ever since we are kindergarten , and I promise myself that you’re just the girl that I’m going to love … and I have a one word..”, a tears suddenly fall on your cheeks.

“well, yeah ~ I like you so much, I’m just afraid that you’ll reject me and I’m also afraid that my friendship with Leeteuk will ruined but he already allow me to court you, weeks ago. so..”, he paused again.

“would you be my girlfriend?”, he asked. You never thought you will cry that time.Tears of joy.

You inhale for a while and say .. “yes”, you gladly answer and you hear clapping persons on the other line.

“oh ~ are you with your friends?”, you asked. “ahehe.. yeah ~ we are having a simple celebration here since we win on the contest ..”, he said.”.. and we celebrate since I finally win your heart”, he laugh softly and you both exchange “ I LOVE YOU” to each other.
